• The mission of the Boundy-Mills laboratory is to utilize yeasts for discovery and innovation. Research activities either contribute to or utilize the Phaff Yeast Culture Collection (link to phaffcollection.ucdavis.edu), which contains over 1,000 species of yeast from 60 countries.
  • The Boundy-Mills laboratory collaborates with numerous other research groups at UC Davis and around the world in projects ranging from basic taxonomy to food fermentations to conversion of agricultural residues to value-added products. Many of these projects begin with screening dozens or hundreds of yeasts species for specific properties.
